Brace Height
What is brace height?
Brace height is the distance between the throat of your grip and your string.
What should your brace height be set at?
It should be set between 7 1/2 and 8 inches.
A Shorter Brace Height will result in a more aggressive , faster shooting and less forgiving shot.
A Higher Brace Height will result in a more forgiving, less aggressive shot.
Steps to check & adjust height on a traditional bow:
- Measure the distance from the throat of your grip to the string (It should be set between 7 1/2 and 8 inches).
- Use a Stringer to unstring your bows (it it needs adjusting).
- Twist the end of your string counter clockwise to increase the distance, or make it higher.
- Twist the end of your string clockwise to decrease the distance, or make it lower.
- String your bow back up and check the brace height again.
- Repeat until you achieve your desired brace height.
